Adding patients

There are two ways to add a patient, both are explained below.

Adding a patient while making an appointment

This is a common task carried out by reception staff who are answering calls and booking in new patients over the phone.

  1. From the left-hand side menu, click Appointments to start the appointment booking process.
  2. Navigate to the clinic/practitioner, day and time that you would like to book.
  3. Click the time slot you would like to make an appointment. The sidebar will open with as many details pre-filled as possible based on where you clicked.
  4. Click the plus symbol next to the ‘Patient’ field. More fields will then display.
  5. Add the new patient’s details. You are only required to add the ‘First Name’ and ‘Last Name’. All other fields are optional and can be edited at a later date from the patient profile.
  6. Check that the appointment details are correct and then click ‘Add Appointment’.
  7. The new patient will be added to the database and their first appointment is saved to the calendar.

Adding a patient from the patient list

This is an easy way to quickly add patients one at a time.

  1. Click Patients in the left-hand side menu.
  2. Click the green ‘Add Patient’ button. A pop-up will show.
  3. Enter the new patient’s details and click ‘Add Patient’. Only the ‘First Name’ and ‘Last Name’ are required fields. All other fields are optional and can be edited at a later date from the patient profile.
  4. Once you have added the patient, you are taken to their dashboard.
